RELFLECTING BACK:Summerwork Hey Ya Music Video Remake

Here Below is the remake of Hey ya. We had great fun making the video and it gave us insight to what we will be expecting to do in A2.

Strengths:

1. The editing is done at a fast pace, to along with the fast pace of the music.
2. The camerawork on our lead singer was held steady. Also it on the precise level so it doesn't look "wonky"
3. The lip-syncing and the miming of the guitar, the clapping, the drums (banging the pens on the table) and the make shift keyboard was done in time with the music.
4. Jump Cuts were used to demonstrate the different band members and to show the individualism.

Weaknesses:

1. The lighting is really poor as it is not kept consistent all the way through because some shots are bright while some shots are dark
2. The Mise en scene was not particularly great as we were filming on a blank green screen it adds no theme of the music video, neither ads gratification factor to entice the audience. We had no costume plan (however it was meant to be spoof to add comedy factor) but the costumes did let it down.
3. The framing of our lead singer was bad, because we had so much unwanted space and we should have followed the rule of 3. When we did the pan you can see that we were coming off the green backdrop. We should have moved close together or we should have moved in the middle, to that shot.
4. There were no effects used in the music video causing it to look boring.
5. We didn’t use much various shot transitions giving a sense of no creativity or vision.
6. There is no clear structure to our music video, some may say it is illustration but it is not clear to tell. It does not give an impression we are on stage to screaming audience.
